Creativity comes from flexibility...

 

Rarely will a logo be chosen from the first sketch.  Designs will often go through a series of modifications before being executed.  Most simple advertising campaigns are a metamorphosis of many ideas.  Even the most easily recognizable logos and corporate names will undergo change at some point.

 

The key to creativity is the ability to be flexible ~ to try new fonts, vast colors, different layouts, ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous.  It is true that one never knows where a good idea comes from, or when a better idea will come along.  Even something as simple as a common paperclip has undergone monumental changes in the quest to become everyone's answer to one common problem.

 

While desktop publishing and do-it-yourself design platforms have radically changed the need for hiring an alternative resource, true creativity cannot be pre-packaged or sold off-the-shelf.  When taking your image to the next level, you need to start by "upping" your creativity factor.
